Why ExamGiant Now Has a Standalone Competition Cashier
One of the biggest challenges in building low-cost competitions is payment friction. If every small event entry requires a brand-new payment step, a lot of people will stop before they ever complete registration. That is why I have been building a standalone competition cashier inside ExamGiant.
This cashier is separate from school subscriptions and school account billing. It is designed specifically for public competitions and tournaments. That means an entrant can have a competition profile, request event entry, add prepaid balance, and eventually use that balance for repeat participation without mixing any of that into the regular school-side product.
The first version is intentionally honest. Instead of pretending that a full live processor is already connected, the cashier creates structured payment and balance requests that can be reviewed by admin. That gives the platform a real workflow now while keeping room for PayPal or card processing later.
A major reason this matters is re-entry. If someone already has competition balance available, it becomes much easier for them to enter again instead of stopping because they need to go find a payment method every single time. That reduces friction and makes repeat participation far more realistic.
This new cashier foundation also supports event-by-event pricing and re-entry rules. Some events may allow re-entry for the full event. Others may later allow re-entry at the individual round level. The system is being built so that those decisions can be made at the event level instead of forcing one rule across the whole platform.
ExamGiant is moving toward a competition model that is not only functional, but commercially practical. A separate cashier and prepaid balance system helps make low-cost public competitions much more realistic to run and much easier for entrants to use.
I also completed the next build step and committed it as a8db314 with message Add event re-entry cashier support. Re-entry can now be requested or paid from balance when an event allows it, and admin can approve those requests through the standalone event cashier flow.
