Building ExamGiant’s 8 Account Types: Laying the Foundation for Schools, Teachers, Students, and Families

One of the biggest areas I’ve been working on lately is the account system for ExamGiant. It may not be the flashiest part of the platform, but it is one of the most important. If the account structure is not clear and flexible, everything else becomes harder to build well. Right now, I’m working through the logistics of eight different account types so the platform can serve students, families, teachers, schools, and districts in a practical way. On the student side, I’m planning for three different paths: a student signing up through a school an independent student signing up on their own a student joining because a teacher invited them into a class That third path is especially important to me, because one of my biggest goals for ExamGiant is to make it easy for schools to use the platform in real classrooms. I want teachers to be able to invite students, organize learning and testing in a structured way, and use the site as part of everyday classroom instruction. On the adult and ...

How Sponsorship Can Help ExamGiant Grow Educational Competitions

Image
ExamGiant is building educational competitions designed to reward learning, expand opportunity, and make academic contests more accessible to students from many different backgrounds. Sponsorship is one of the most important ways this vision can grow. Sponsors can help make meaningful student competitions possible by supporting prize funds, helping expand access, and allowing more schools and students to participate. In many cases, sponsorship can also give a company, donor, or community-minded organization a visible way to support education while being recognized for that support. There is more than one way to sponsor ExamGiant competitions. Some sponsors may simply want to help students and be associated with educational opportunity. In that case, charitable-style support may be the best fit. That kind of support can help seed prize funds, support students from underserved backgrounds, help school teams participate, or provide educational prizes such as laptops, museum membersh...

How Nonprofit-Powered Competitions Can Unlock Hidden Student Talent Worldwide

Image
Every year, millions of students with extraordinary potential go unnoticed—not because they lack ability, but because they lack opportunity. At ExamGiant, we are building a system designed to change that. Our platform is built on a simple but powerful idea: talent is everywhere, but access is not. That’s why we created our Nonprofit Competition Program —a model that allows students to participate in high-quality academic competitions for little to no cost, while still offering meaningful prizes and recognition. What Makes These Competitions Different? Traditional competitions often come with barriers—high entry fees, limited access, or restricted eligibility. Our nonprofit competitions are different: Entry fees range from free to just $2 Competitions are funded by charitable organizations and sponsors Students from all backgrounds can participate and compete fairly We are proud to have already established our first nonprofit partnership with Group 36 , and we ar...

ExamGiant Contests: Academic Bowl, Global Tournaments, and Affordable Educational Prizes

Image
At ExamGiant, we are building academic contests designed to reward learning, expand opportunity, and make competition accessible to students from every background. Watch the overview video below to hear the vision behind ExamGiant contests. One of the contest formats we are developing is a school-based Academic Bowl model. In this format, schools can compete against other schools across the world rather than only against nearby districts or local rivals. Each student competitor would take exams across eight academic subjects. These could include subjects such as math, English, memory, geography, civics, and other core academic areas. Schools could select students strategically, but every participant would still complete the full set of exams. The goal is to create a modern online version of the kind of academic competitions many students once experienced locally, but on a much larger scale. We are also developing larger individual tournaments for single students rather than schoo...

Why Memory Matters: ExamGiant’s Musical Circles Memory Game

Image
I just created a new video showing one of the games I personally think is the most important on ExamGiant: the Musical Circles Memory Game. Right now, students can practice in two active modes: Sights and Sounds Sight Only I think memory is one of the most important foundations for learning. When students remember more of what the teacher says, more of what they read, and more of what they practice, school becomes easier. Homework can feel less overwhelming, class can make more sense, and students can build confidence faster. This is not just my opinion. Research has shown that memory is closely connected to school performance. One study published in  Learning and Individual Differences  reported that “working memory predicted math and reading performance on all tasks.” Source:  PMC article  and  PubMed record . That does not mean memory is the only thing that matters, but it does mean memory is a very important part of learning well. In this game, studen...

New Medical Terms Learning Tool on ExamGiant

Image
I just created a new video showing a different kind of learning tool on ExamGiant. This one is not a game. It is a medical terms learning tool designed to help students study vocabulary for nurses and doctors. The goal is to help learners become more familiar with important medical words and understand which terms are more relevant for different roles. Some words may be especially useful for nursing students, while others may be more appropriate for doctors or more advanced medical study. One thing I like about this tool is that it can improve over time with feedback from students and teachers. If someone sees a medical word and believes it is in the wrong category, they can click and report that. For example, a student studying nursing may feel that a word belongs more in the doctor category. If enough people report the same issue, I can review it and make the correction. I also explained in the video that students and teachers can send in more vocabulary words as well. That mea...

New U.S. Presidents Picture Game on ExamGiant

Image
I just created a new video showing another civics and government game on ExamGiant: U.S. Presidents - Picture. This game gives students a chance to practice recognizing U.S. presidents by their pictures. That makes it a useful way to build familiarity with American history and leadership in a more visual and interactive format. Many students may learn the names of presidents in school, but recognizing them by picture adds another level of understanding. It helps connect names to real historical figures and can make history feel more concrete and memorable. In my video, I walk through how the U.S. Presidents Picture game works inside ExamGiant and show how students can use it for practice. I think this kind of game is valuable because it helps students strengthen both recognition and recall. It is one thing to memorize a list of names. It is another thing to be able to identify important people by sight and connect them to what students are learning in civics and history. My goal ...
