Why English Still Matters: New Parts of Speech and Hypernyms Practice on ExamGiant
I just finished another ExamGiant video, and this one shows two more English practice modes: Parts of Speech and Hypernyms.
As I was making the video, I shared something personal. When I was in high school, I did not think English was very important. At the time, I thought I would probably become either a math teacher, a professor, or a computer programmer, so I focused much more on math and did not take English as seriously as I should have.
Looking back, that was a mistake.
English is useful for just about everyone. If you become a boss, you need to be able to write clearly to your employees. If you work for someone else, you need to be able to communicate well with your boss. No matter what path you take in life, strong English skills can help you explain your ideas, understand other people, and present yourself more professionally.
That is one reason I think English practice matters so much.
In this new video, I show two useful areas of study:
- Parts of Speech
- Hypernyms
Parts of Speech help students understand how words function in a sentence. That foundation can make reading, writing, and grammar much easier.
Hypernyms help students understand word categories and broader meanings. They build vocabulary and help students see connections between words and ideas.
These skills may seem simple at first, but they support stronger communication, stronger reading comprehension, and better writing over time.
ExamGiant is being built step by step, and these videos are part of that process. I’m showing the features in a gradual way so students, parents, and teachers can clearly see what is available and how the practice works.
If English was not your favorite subject in school, you are definitely not alone. But it is one of those subjects that keeps helping you for the rest of your life.
More ExamGiant videos and more learning games are on the way.
